Club Improvements!
Your club staff has been BUSY this week with lots of improvements and upgrades to the club!
Work has commenced on a new entrance gate that will provide enhanced capabilities for limiting access and ensuring security at the club. More details in the coming weeks but stay tuned for an upgraded entranceway!
The grounds crew has also been busy replacing the grass on the practice green and replanting with Seashore Paspalum. The new green should be ready in a couple of months and it’s another nice upgrade for our course!
You’ll also notice new coats of paint on much of the clubhouse, refurbished tables in the dining area, and a number of projects happening behind the scenes that enhance your club experience. More upgrades and work on the horizon—exciting times ahead!
Golf
Yes—golf at the Club is back! We reopened on Friday, May 1st, and as predicted, members came out in droves to quench their “fix” for getting on the course. Every available tee time on Friday and Saturday were filled within a couple of hours!
Many new guidelines and rules have been implemented to adhere to the “New Normal” that we’re currently living by:
After observing the “flow” of the first five days of golf operation, the following changes will be made, effective Wednesday, May 6th:
- Play can now start on hole #1 and not #10
- Members can call for tee time reservations two (2) days in advance. Only one (1) tee time per day.
- The last tee time each day to use an electric cart has changed from 2:30pm to 3:00 pm.
- The main entrance gate will now open daily at 6:30am. Non-golfing members can still come for exercise and walk on the golf course until 7:30am.
The Pro Shop Staff would like to thank the members for doing their part by wearing facial masks and practicing social distancing at the Pro Shop and on the golf course.
To schedule a tee time call (808) 877-0616 and we’ll see you out on the course!
Tennis + Pickleball
Our two ball machines (three if you include the pickleball machine!) are back in use and have been humming! For information on the ball machines contact Kyle Ellison at (808) 264-3005 or kyle@mauicountryclub.org.
You can also reserve a time with the CourtReserve app—contact Kyle with questions or for details.
Speaking of Kyle, he’s been busy working to clean the courts and get them ready for use! He’s also currently working with numerous organizations including the USTA, USPTA, and the USTA Hawaii Pacific section to lobby for openings of private tennis clubs—hopefully we’ll have good news soon!
