We’ve been patiently waiting to hear the good news which was finally announced yesterday by both the Governor and Mayor. Effective tomorrow, May 1, golf courses can open for modified play that adheres to a new set of PGA guidelines for social distancing and use. Tennis
Soon…soon….hopefully soon! Just a little more patience, and stay tuned.
In the meantime, the USTA has put out a FANTASTIC portal of at-home tennis videos that are specifically geared towards kids. Here’s an example of “Lobster Trap,” a simple drill you can do with two racquets and any sort of barrier, like a ladder.

Fitness
More good news! Tommye Jones—one of our favorite yoga instructors—will be offering virtual yoga classes for the month of May on Fridays at 4:30pm. Visit our Virtual Fitness Calendar for info on how to sign up.
Or, if you’re short on time and don’t have an hour to make it to a class, the New York Times reports that micro-workouts as short as 4 seconds can lead to substantial improvements in fitness! (Yes, really—check it out).
Haircuts!
For anyone getting a little bit shaggy email kyle@mauicountryclub.org for more info on haircuts.
Happy Hour!
Our next Virtual Happy Hour is Friday night at 5pm, followed by Saturday night at 5pm! Bring your favorite drink, a smile, and a story—here’s the link to join
From The Archives
Date: 1964—Senior club member Laurie Loney cooling off in the swimming pool to beat the summer heat. A Spreckelsville tradition for decades!

My Maui Country Club At Home
Huge shoutout to Jordy Sharpe who’s been holding nothing back on his indoor tennis! It’s one thing to practice volleys against the wall, and it’s another to repeatedly rip full length groundstrokes and consistently hit your target.
See for yourself in the video below—hope to see you on the courts soon!
