Aloha Maui Country Club ‘ohana, and Happy Monday morning!
We hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Sunday and felt a small sense of normalcy yesterday spending time with family and loved ones. That word—normalcy—has been popping up lately, as it’s something many health experts are saying will help us get through this uncertain time.
We can definitely say it’s true here on our end, as we relish seeing familiar faces who swing by for takeout, throw us a smile or a big double shaka while walking out to the beach, or simply send us a photo or message saying how much they appreciate the club.
Though our facilities remain limited, members have mentioned how simply being here brings a sense of normalcy to the day.
You may not be able to sit at your favorite barstool, but you can still swing by, chat with Laurent, and order an MCC burger for lunch before taking home a bottle of wine you’d normally enjoy at the club. You can do your cardio workout on the lawn, wave at friends in the parking lot, and enjoy the ocean and mountain views that you normally see on the fairway.
(*One that note, this could actually be time to improve your game by taking it slow, walking the course, and studying the nuances, yardage, or lies on holes that give you trouble).
Mahalo to all of our wonderful members who keep supporting the club, and here’s your daily blog for Monday—we look forward to seeing you soon!

You can see the full announcement and details on the national USTA website, and we’ll work to keep you up to date with all the latest info!
In the meantime, even though league tennis is currently on hold, it doesn’t mean this isn’t a good time to improve your strategy and technique. There’s A LOT you can still learn without even stepping on a court, so here’s a video on 4 simple tips you can use to win more matches.
Golf
Are you practicing any trick shots at home? If so, get them on video! Here’s some inspiration from a kid named Leo Boniface. The first one is cool—but the second is terrifying. Definitely don’t try at home!
PS: If you’re wondering, he’s only 7.

Special MCC History Project!
Have you been a club member for generations? Are you a Senior member? Super senior member? Maybe had parents that were members back in the day?
Our “Director of Virtual Operations” is working to collect old photos and stories that help tell the club’s lengthy 95-year history. There is SO much that’s happened here at the club, and we want to be able to archive and share it with newer members and guests.
If you’re looking for something to keep you busy at home, contact Kyle Ellison at kyle@mauicountryclub.org with photos, anecdotes, stories, and tales that tell the great history of our club.
