Happy Easter to all who are celebrating from everyone at Maui Country Club! It sure is strange not filling the field with eggs, or welcoming members with smiles and hugs to Easter Brunch in the clubhouse. From all of our ‘ohana to yours we’re hoping you’re enjoying the holiday at home, surrounding by family and loved ones.
Here’s your club info for Easter Sunday and hope to see everyone soon!

Special MCC History Project!
Have you been a club member for generations? Are you a Senior member? Super senior member? Maybe had parents that were members back in the day?
Our “Director of Virtual Operations” is working to collect old photos and stories that help tell the club’s lengthy 95-year history. There is SO much that’s happened here at the club, and we want to be able to archive and share it with newer members and guests.
If you’re looking for something to keep you busy at home, contact Kyle Ellison at kyle@mauicountryclub.org with photos, anecdotes, stories, and tales that tell the great history of our club.
Tennis
Here’s the good news: We WILL be able to play tennis again—we just don’t know exactly when. To keep the competitive juices flowing, here’s the link to the MDTA tournament calendar that shows the original schedule of tennis tournaments on Maui…hopefully we can still get some of these in!
In the meantime, here’s a great tutorial on 8 Tips For Exactly When To Poach In Doubles. You’ll notice a recurring theme is responding to the ball that’s been hit by your partner, as opposed to responding to your opponent. Take a look.
Golf
Here’s a flashback to club member Pierce Dowd on his club championship victory this past year. We’re thinking about Pierce and ALL of our member MIL athletes whose high school seasons were cut short.
While nothing can replace the camaraderie and thrill of high school competition, you can still enjoy this sport of a lifetime once it’s time to re-open the club!
In other golf news, the PGA is exploring a return to tournaments without the fans, The Memorial is considering re-scheduling to July, and this would have been the day that The Masters would have crowned a champion.
To commemorate the moment, let’s all just enjoy highlights from Tiger’s final round on his masterpiece in 2019.
Fitness
Need to work off that Easter dinner? There’s a packed schedule of fitness classes tomorrow, beginning as early as 6:45am! Tomorrow’s schedule includes:
- 6:45am: Passion of Movement with Morgan Torres
- 8:00am: Yoga with 10ya Yoga
- 9:ooam: Tai Chi with Lorena
- 10:30am: Barre + Sculpt with Jasmine
- 5:00pm: Yoga, Breath, and Alignment with Danielle Richardson
For the full schedule and how to sign up, take a look at the Virtual Fitness Calendar and inquire with instructors for more details.
Pickleball
While some members are still learning the basics, other members are honing their skills and starting to incorporate advanced techniques—most notably, the “Third Shot Drop.” While to some it might look like a really long dink, it’s a pickleball pillar that any great player incorporates into their game.
To work on practicing your long drop at home (maybe on one of those driveway courts we keep seeing!), check out this short instructional video that teaches you some of the basics.
My Maui Country Club At Home
Great to hear from club members Laurie and Pocket Loney who’ve been staying busy with pukaball drills, home projects, and lots of art and yard work. Great to see you both in your element and mahalo for sharing the pic!
We love engaging with all of our members and seeing what everyone’s been doing at home. Send us a photo of how you’re enjoying your favorite club activities and be entered into a drawing for a $50 statement credit once we re-open the club.
You can see the full list of all the entrants over on the blog page.
