Maui Country Club welcomes Max Watson, Head Tennis Professional
Max Watson comes to us from Lifetime Tennis Academy in Plano, Texas. Over the past seven years Max has developed deep experience and personal commitment to growing facilities and programs, as well as building strong relationships with members and staff at the clubs where he has worked.
Max is USPTA certified since 2012 and has a ton of hours on court driving adult programs, team drills, clinics of all kinds, cardio drills, and of course private lessons. Prior to his positions with Lifetime Tennis in both Colleyville and Plano, he was with The Players Club, in Palm Coast, Florida; and The Northwood Club of Dallas, Texas.
Prior to playing college tennis at the University of West Florida at Pensacola, Max trained at the Bolleteri Academy in Bradenton, Florida and finished his senior year undefeated (22-0) to become the Florida State Champion in singles.
His background as a passionate tennis professional is a perfect match for the Head Pro position at Maui Country Club.
Mana Kaiwi, Assistant Tennis Professional
You may know Mana (aka Bud) – he has spent summers at the Club assisting in our tennis program. Did you know he hails originally from Hana?
In 2014 Mana won the HHSAA MIL state section champion for Maui. He can really hit the ball!
He has years of playing experience in USTA sanctioned events, and just last year reached the final of the Wailea Open. He combines this with three years of teaching experience with all levels of players, ranging from youth to adult.
He is working on his pre-med requirements on his path to becoming a doctor. Come get on the court with him while you can!
Max and Mana may be reached at the Club by calling (808) 877-7282 or via email.
Best of luck Max. I trained with him for a year in Texas and he was a great tennis pro!
