It was an exciting jam packed 4 days of tennis out in the desert! Perusing around the BNP Paribas tourney grounds to watch epic performances from the world’s best: Novak Djokovic, Serena and Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal, John Isner and the list goes on and on. Watching tennis at the highest level live, in-person is so different from what the viewer gets on television. To see these athletes perform their talents from such an intimate vantage point; one gets to see just how fast, mobile, and strong the players really are. The competition for each point in every match is a hard fought battle of will and skill…beautiful to behold!
On a trip high note, Maui Country Club’s 99-year-old wonder, Nels Glesne along with Tom Glesne met John Isner, America’s top tennis player!! Nels was relaxed during his hit with Isner – very consistent – impressing the 6’10 Isner with his play and we had fun watching them! Isner and the Glesnes were interviewed by the Tennis Channel and Nels’ practice with the 6’10” Isner was featured in this video – check it out!
Maui Country Club Tennis Pro Cason Mays just returned from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA along with Team MCC, and they competed in the Palm Springs International Tennis Team Championships at Palm Desert Tennis Resort Country Club.
